Our teacher

Landa van den Berg started her insight meditation practice in 2005, and moved from the Netherlands to New Zealand in 2007.
Retreat practice is an important part of her Buddhist path and she has attended many short and long retreats, mostly in the United States, the United Kingdom and New Zealand. During these retreats she was supported by many well-known Insight Meditation teachers, including Sharda Rogell, James Baraz, Catherine McGee, Shaila Catherine and Guy and Sally Armstrong.
Studying the Buddhist teachings also brings her great joy, and she graduated from the Dedicated Practitioners Program in Spirit Rock.
Nowadays her personal practice is much inspired by the teachings of Rob Burbea.

Landa has graduated from a dhamma teacher training led by James Baraz, and has received years of mentoring from Sharda Rogell. Those two teachers have authorised her to teach the Buddha dhamma. She has been leading Wellington Insight since 2018. All her teachings are offered based on dana.

Besides teaching the Buddha dhamma Landa is a counsellor, primarily supporting trauma survivors. Trained in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, she specialises in using the body in her therapeutic work.
